City of Brunswick Adopts Go2s for Reliable Communication

Brunswick, MD – May 18, 2018 –Residents of Brunswick and the surrounding area have a new, more reliable way to get local government news and updates. Since mid-April, all city announcements can be found on the Go2s social networking platform and mobile app. The Go2s app is free and membership to the City of Brunswick group is open to anyone.

Go2s’ unique strategy puts users, not algorithms are in control. This means that group members see every announcement, every time, in chronological order and don’t miss important information. Users are also able to configure settings so that urgent announcements can be received via text and email.

The City of Brunswick currently has an active Facebook presence. When asked what made Go2s an attractive addition to the City’s social media roster, Mayor Jeff Snoots said, “I was interested in Go2s because of how it’s so different from other social media sites. You can control your connections more and limit how much your information is broadcast. I also like the way that it includes an area for recommendations so we can promote our businesses…it’s a great way to keep Brunswick and all we have to offer out there in the public eye. I encourage everyone to sign up and see what Go2s has to offer. I’m very excited Brunswick was selected as the Go2s’ launch site.”

Members of the City of Brunswick group will learn about city job postings, free family events, severe weather impacts, and important utility information in addition to upcoming events from the City Calendar.
